The Leader 193 Way is leadership through process and wellness.
Let me explain further.
Based on my experience as a Navy SEAL and FBI Special Agent, where leading in the most dangerous situations is literally a matter of life and death, I’ve come to several conclusions.
There is a pattern of events, for lack of a better word, that show themselves in nearly every situation we find ourselves in. The problem is that these patterns are so intuitive we barely recognize them and fail to give them much thought. Because of this reality, people generally act randomly and achieve random results.
Random Actions and Random Results Have No Part in the Leadership Equation.
For example, we all have emotions, and we act on those emotions in some fashion. When we act, we generally formulate some sort of plan before we act, even if that plan is ill conceived. Then, we generally consider our behavior after the fact and draw some kind of conclusion. We liked what we did, we justified how we acted, we were mortified with ourselves, etc.
If we concluded that we didn’t like our behavior we wonder why we would do something so stupid. We beat ourselves up and often times chalk it up to a character flaw. “That’s just how I’m wired.”
This should sound familiar because it is literally what happens to each of us daily. Again, the problem is we are barely conscious of this process and allow it to work intuitively.
Aware of it or not, it is a process. It is a process of thought and decision making. Leader 193 makes clear the elements of this thought process, we made it a leadership process.
Leader 193 Made This a Leadership Process
Why does this matter? Because when we follow my leadership process we become aware of everything I’ve just described. When we become aware of these elements of logical thought, we can begin to make conscious decisions.
Awareness and conscious decision-making are two vital elements to leadership greatness.
But so is process.
Why is process a vital element to leadership greatness? Because when we have process we can go back and determine where things went right and where things went wrong. We can identify the very area of thought we did not account for and make the targeted and necessary adjustments for success the next time.
Additionally, we can repeat successes because we know what led us to success…the process.
What Is the Wellness Aspect of The Leader 193 Way?
Wellness can mean many things. Yes, physical fitness is vital to overall health and performance. And while doing your pushups and getting your cardiovascular work in is important, it is not what we are talking about.
When it comes to The Leader 193 Way, wellness is focused and vital to leadership excellence. It is the wellness of mind and spirit. It is the wellness that is not visible to the naked eye.
Dismiss the importance of this aspect of wellness and leadership excellence at your peril.
The Leader 193 Way uses breathing and cold exposure, based on The Wim Hof Method, to clear inflammation from the body which is created by stress. We use breathing and cold exposure to learn focus and walking meditation. Think of it as being aware of where your mind is throughout the day and bringing your focus back to where you want it to be.
We also use cold exposure to practice the vital elements of the leadership process described earlier.
Stress is a killer. Stress creates inflammation in the body, which is normal. But when we do not clear the body of the inflammation caused by stress, the stress becomes chronic. And we now know chronic stress is related to all the major diseases that plague our society: Cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, auto-immune disease, Parkinson’s, and the list goes on. You can find numerous scientific studies on this here.
When we have stress, we are not able to think clearly. We are not aware and do not make conscious decisions. When we have stress, we are not able to execute process. Without the wellness portion of the Leader193 Way, you are not maximizing your ability to lead effectively.
The Leader 193 Way is for everyone who is committed to becoming a great leader at work, at home, in the community, anywhere. The Leader 193 Way takes a commitment unlike other leadership or self-help programs.
However, when practiced and applied, the results will be dramatic.
The Leader 193 Way is tried and true and battle tested.
